Accessibility
This website is meant to work well for everyone, whatever their perception, concentration, eyesight or technology. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, and the German BITV 2.0.
Display settings
At the top right of every page you will find the “Display settings” button (an icon of a person). It lets you adjust how the site is presented to suit your needs:
- Colour scheme: light, dark or as set in your operating system
- Motion: reduce animations and the balls on the home page – or switch them on deliberately
- Contrast: bolder text, borders and lines
- Text size: enlarge the whole page in two steps
- Calm colours: tone the colourful areas down considerably
Your settings are stored only in your browser and are never sent to us. They are kept for your next visit and can be reset at any time.
What we have implemented
- Clear structure with headings, landmarks and a skip link to the content
- Fully operable by keyboard with a clearly visible focus
- Alternative text for images and graphics; purely decorative elements are skipped by screen readers
- Sufficient colour contrast in light and dark mode
- Operating system settings for colour scheme, reduced motion and increased contrast are picked up automatically
- Text can be enlarged to at least 200 % without losing content or functionality
- Content in German, English and Turkish, correctly marked up for screen readers
- Usable on small and large screens, in portrait and landscape
Known limitations
We do not yet offer content in Easy Read (Leichte Sprache) or German Sign Language.
